Open IIoT Open Day NSW – Supercharge Your IIoT
Have you ever wondered how IoT technology has helped other businesses gain a competitive edge?
Join the Open IIoT Open Day and get a sneak peek into case studies that demonstrate how IoT technology can help businesses like yours to:
• Cut costs
• Reduce downtime
• Improve productivity & efficiency
• Enable predictive maintenance
Don’t miss our technical workshops, from 9h00 on the 14th November
9h00 AEST: Balluff – Unlock IIoT Data Power: Condition Monitoring Tool Kit
This workshop is designed to show you how Balluff’s Engineering Tool can help you generate and display IIoT process data with the use of IO-Link and the Condition Monitoring Tool Kit (CMTK).
You’ll explore how to:
– Generate data in the OT/IT domain.
– Commission and Parameterize IO-LINK devices across manufacturers.
– Discover the benefits of CMTK for detecting changes and anomalies, recording long-term trends and analysing production processes.
– And more!
10h00 AEST: Beckhoff – Seamless Connectivity: Integrating IIOT devices to PC based control systems
This workshop unpacks seamless connectivity: integrating IIOT devices to PC based control systems
You’ll learn how to:
• Use a free-to-use MQTT client to publish and subscribe topics to a MQTT broker.
• Use the built-in PLC function blocks available in TwinCAT to publish sensor values to a MQTT broker.
• Use the built-in PLC function blocks available in TwinCAT to subscribe to existing MQTT topics (tags) in the MQTT broker.
• Utilise the easy to use ‘drag and drop’ TwinCAT data agent gateway application to publish live machine data and retrieve data from the MQTT broker.
11h00 AEST: NORD – Local Data Processing Produces Happier Milk
This workshop explores how ST code can be used to programme variable frequency drives and read sensor data, to produce a timed machine operation.
We’ll explore a recent case study, which saw NORD’s two-stage NORDBLOC.1 helical gearboxes paired with the NORDAC BASE VFDs, in the build of automated cow grooming brushes. These are becoming more common in dairies, as they provide dairy cows with enrichment (and in turn, improve milk production).
You’ll learn how to:
– Programme the VFD using ST code
– Read sensor data and produce a timed machine operation
– Discuss specific topics relating to drive near data processing And more!
12h00 AEST: SMC – Unlocking Functionality and Data: Introducing SMC Wireless Digital Architecture
This workshop is designed to introduce you to the future of automation.
You’ll learn more about:
• How to configure an SMC Wireless Network
• The integration of Wireless IO Link Master & Devices
• The integration of EtherCAT Wireless Base with TwinCAT
• Air management system (AMS) integration and OPC UA.
