In a career highlight, Supriya Suhale, category manager for Connectivity at Beckhoff Automation, took home the Emerging Leader award at the APPMA Awards of Excellence, held on the 13 March during APPEX.

Supriya Suhale is an industrial automation engineer and an Engineer Australia accredited engineer, with a decade of rich experience in her field. The nomination as a finalist in the 2024 APPMA Awards of Excellence is testament to her commitment, know-how and quality of work.

Supriya’s career started in 2014 in India where she joined an IOT product engineering design consultancy as an engineering intern. Following her immigration to Australia, Supriya further developed her professional skill set in a range of sales and technical roles within several large multi-nationals.

She joined Beckhoff Automation in 2018 as an Internal Sales Engineer. In the short time since then, Supriya has demonstrated her engineering expertise, leadership capabilities and product knowledge. She has climbed the ranks, being promoted first to the role of Client Relations Officer and more recently, to her current post as Beckhoff Automation Category Manager (the first in Australia). Applying her keen analysis of market trends and the larger industry landscape, Supriya promotes Beckhoff’s expansive range of IO products, including digital, analogue and specialty protocols, as well as measurement devices, power supplies and accessories. Supriya has a keen understanding of IOT and aims to make this easy to understand and implementable for customers.

“Testimonials from industry colleagues applaud her analytical skills and methodical approach, showcasing her as a force in the industry. Supriya’s story embodies success, dedication, and a commitment to a brighter future in automation.”

Winning the award was the culmination of a big day at APPEX for Suhale, who had also participated as a panellist at the APPEX Women in Processing & Packaging forum.

Suhale thanked her leaders, mentors, colleagues and the team at PR company Positiv, all of whom, she said, have shown her tremendous support in her nomination.

“Thank you for the recognition and positivity along the way. I have taken home more than the award from this experience,” Suhale said.

The trophy was presented by Robert Marguccio, business manager – Packaging and Inspection Systems at Heat and Control, sponsor of the award.
