WINNERS OF ADVANCED MANUFACTURING GROWTH FUND SECOND ROUND ANNOUNCED

Winners of the second round of the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Fund have been announced today. The 15 SA and Victorian companies share in $19 million worth of assistance, aimed at helping them transition to higher-value products.
South Australian recipients include beverage business Bickfords and imaging technology company Micro-X (pictured). BNNT of Waurn Ponds is among the Victorian companies, and it aims to be the world’s first industrial-scale producer of boron nitride nanotubes. The full list of recipients can be seen here

“These grants will help companies transition from traditional, heavy processes to advanced manufacturing of higher value products, creating new opportunities and new jobs,” said federal industry minister Karen Andrews in a statement.

“[The funding] is expected to result in an additional investment of $45 million from the successful businesses.”

The Growth Fund program was announced in response to the end of the automotive assembly industry.
